AUTUMN DANCE (LIVE) 4:140:00/4:14
For over 15 years I have cultivated a distinct musical voice that defies rigid categorization. Based in the vibrant cultural crossroads of Bregenz, Austria, my work navigates the fluid space between traditional Cretan music, contemporary composition, jazz, and free improvisation. My compositions honor the deep roots of Cretan aesthetics while reimagining them through the harmonic sophistication of jazz and the textural richness of contemporary chamber music. This unique approach creates a soundscape that is at once familiar and startlingly new, grounded in tradition yet fully engaged with the present moment.
A Collaborative Journey
My artistic path is defined by dynamic collaboration across a diverse range of ensembles. As a core member and composer for groups such as Salingari, Terracotta Project, Pandoras Dream, and the Wotsala Collective, I have refined my ability to blend organic folk elements with modern rhythmic and harmonic structures. These projects have served as laboratories for my evolving style, allowing me to test boundaries and refine a language that speaks to multiple musical traditions simultaneously.
The Andreas Paragioudakis Chamber Ensemble
The Andreas Paragioudakis Chamber Ensemble, represents the culmination of my artistic journey to date. This project brings together the intimate, nuanced colors of a string quartet with the rhythmic drive and improvisational freedom of a jazz trio. Here, the lyrical melodies of Crete intertwine with complex chamber arrangements and spontaneous jazz interplay, creating a rich, multi-layered dialogue between instruments and traditions.
Whether composing for large ensembles or intimate groups, I remain committed to music that is emotionally resonant, intellectually stimulating, and culturally expansive.
